Kathy Puffer is a biogas educator and consultant based in upstate New York.
Translating sustainable science into a cohesive brand identity. I partnered with Kathy Puffer to develop a visual identity system for her dual consulting and education businesses. Inspired by the natural, circular process of how biogas is created, I designed a custom logo, business cards, and a comprehensive style guide that establishes a professional, eco-conscious, and approachable persona.
PROCESS
The Challenge: When I first collaborated with Kathy, she had a very specific idea of what she wanted her branding to convey, but needed a designer to bring this vision to life. She wanted her branding to reflect exactly what her business is all about: biogas. To effectively create this logo, I began by researching biogas, aiming to transform a complex environmental process into a visually striking logo and brand.
The Creative Process: Through an iterative design process, we developed a custom logo that elegantly symbolizes the process of how biogas is created. Once this symbol was established, the rest of the brand fell into place. I built a comprehensive brand identity utilizing an earthy color palette that not only honors the sustainable nature of her work but also authentically reflects Kathy’s personality.
